What would a shot look like if someone else processed it?
The idea has been kicking around for a couple years now thanks to Michael Pecaut. Now six of us (Mike, Greg Thow, Greg Stene, Evan Robinson, Denny Wilkins and myself) are going to do it.
The rules:
- Each participant selects a shot and uploads it to the others. The shot can be old or new, any genre, whatever.
- The others will then process the shot as though they had taken it. They can crop it, abstract it, black-and-white it, oversaturate it, whatever.
- They will then post the image to 5280LM, hopefully with some brief explanation as to what the viewer is seeing.
I’m not sure what to expect. Most of my colleagues are more faithful, straight-up photographers, so I might anticipate them taking a direct path. I tend to be more digital artsy than photographery, so I may take more liberties. Or I could be wrong.
I do know I was told I – in forceful language – couldn’t submit any of my doll shots, which I think is horribly unfair….
[ahem]
Anyway, I’ll have my first one up shortly.
