Highway 7, just south of Allenspark. Color first:
I like the color, but am playing with B/W more these days in pursuit of … drama? With landscapes, especially, I’m learning from the process of pretending I’m Ansel Adams.

This is a toss-up. They’re both compelling. There’s a bit more shadow detail in the trees (right and left) in the color version, so I’ll lean slightly toward that one.

Highway 7 SE of Allenspark. Trying to figure out what I’m seeing. Is that Meeker with Long’s Peak behind it, maybe?

I’m with Denny because of the detail factor. I’m thinking you’ll be a lot happier with your B&W work if you try to avoid patches of black and try to get some slight detail in there.

Oh, I can get the detail in there. I was intentionally darkening everything around the edges.
