Looks great…glowing was the first adjective that came to mind when I saw it this morning. Now don’t frock it up second guessing yourself (G).

But – look at the glow, especially top of the head. And the fact that it’s more drop shadow than evenly distributed glow. This is a very technically flawed rendering, don’t you think? I mean, I’m glad I’ve done something people like, but I want to get it by god RIGHT.

Art isn’t about technical perfection Sam, it’s about the impression of perfection. Your original rendition bit people, grabbed them by the collar and said, “HEY! Look at me, I’m unusual and interesting!”
Without the glow your image says to me in a fairly muted voice, “I’m a hood ornament”. Just my opinion friend.

I agreed with your decision to redo it.. I like glowy stuff as much as the next person, but didn’t work for me here at all…
