The new version has been cropped slightly. One of the costs is the lighting in the tree in the upper left corner. The light on those upper branches (to me) adds a sense of greater depth to the original version. The removal of the tree in the center background is an artistic choice. But I’d argue that its absence (again, to me) removes a sense of depth contained in the original.
Look closely at the highlights of both: The original has slightly more highlight detail. So I vote for the original image. Stene, I think, will disagree with me. (Yes, I’m baiting him …)

You left a hole in this excellent image by removing the tree in the center. The Photoshopped image is less without it, figuratively and literally.

My preference is for the original – the tree lives there.
