My grandfather collected old insulators like this one. I never really knew why, but he’d snoop around auction sales and antique stores looking for all he could find. Not sure this counts as especially noteworthy photography, but when I saw these at the Classical Gas Museum in New Mexico I had to snap a couple shots in his honor.
So these are for you, Granddaddy. You’d have loved this place. And I miss you every day….

Nice memory of your grandfather – shame you will never know what was behind his collection. Do you have any of the collection?

No. I have very little of his stuff. It all got auctioned off and if I start thinking about that process I’ll get very mad.

We used to have a ton of those under our shop in Hawaii. My mom finally got rid of em a few years ago.
