It was sensory overload – my jaw hung open to my chest the whole time. I took lots of shots but never quite figured out what to do with them. Over the holidays I revisited the collection with an eye toward abstraction.

Over the past few years I’ve happened upon some amazing scenes and, for one reason or another, failed to do them justice. So as I improve and get better tools I sometimes revisit them. This was taken 12-23-2013. My first couple of attempts left much to be desired.
And no, I haven’t saturated the sky here. I actually toned the blues down a bit.
