Well, now, this is a change. I like that the shadowed spaces are left … mysteriously … dark. Places of refuge? Haven? Well done, sir.

Yes, nicely done, Sam. I’m liking the range of colors represented here. And if you decide to continue shooting outdoors, I’d like to offer up the following piece of advice … do what you can to eliminate the sky. You can get great colors and composition in the grey here, but the sky wants to come out white all the time. You did well on this one by minimizing it, but the sky here in this season is rarely your friend. If you run into any tricks, please let me know. The best I’ve got so far is composition to minimize it, and a polaroid filter (which has not proven all that successful for me).
